Festival Dates in Pattaya​

As one of the main tourist hubs in the Kingdom, Pattaya hosts one of the longest Songkran celebrations in the country.

In Pattaya, celebrations usually start on 10th April and last until 19th April. Especially the Songkran afterparties (wan lai) are a big thing in Pattaya and the Chonburi province.

Songkran Water Festival in Pattaya

Beach Road Water Festival​

Pattaya's main venue for water fights is the Pattaya Beach. The beach road is closed to traffic and turned into a wild and wet playground between 13th and 15th April.

You can expect massive water battles between tourists and locals alike, with street parties including DJs and live music.

Buddhist Ceremonies at Wat Phra Yai & Wat Chai Mongkol​

Wat Phra Yai and Wat Chai Mongkol are two important Buddhist temples in the heart of Pattaya.

In these temples you can experience traditional Buddhist ceremonies and rituals including sand pagoda building, the pouring of water over Buddha statues for blessings, and Rod Nam Dam Hua, where younger folk pay respects to their elders or monks by gently pouring water on their hands.

Naklua Wan Lai Festival​

Naklua Wan Lai Festival is a traditional Songkran festival that takes place in Naklua in North Pattaya. It is a way for whole family to experience the traditional Thai way of celebrating Songkran.

This event starts very early in the morning, around 7am, and ends around 10am. Activities include traditional activities like alms-giving ceremony, new year blessing, bathing buddha images.

Wan Lai Pattaya​

Wan Lai Pattaya is the official Songkran afterparty in Pattaya. It is a massive event that takes place on the beach road and is attended by thousands of people.

Key hotspots will be Pattaya Beach and Walking Street, where you can expect to find live musicc and DJs, foam parties, and more water fights.
